Bitou Horse Welfare is a charity that concerns itself with the welfare of the noble equine, be it a horse, donkey or mule.

Plettenberg Bay has cases of abuse towards equines in both the poorer and richer communities. Many of these cases are purely due to neglect and cruelty, however, many are also due to lack of education. 


We therefore try to assess each case on its merits and educate the handlers of the equines before considering confiscation unless it is a desperate case with little hope of turn around.
